We're seeking like-minded, patriotic businesses and individuals who want to give back to our country's heroes. Yoga Stand Down
5:45 - 6:30 PM
Adventures in Training with a Purpose
7000 Stonewood Drive, Suite 115A, Wexford, PA 15090
Complementary health approaches, such as meditation and yoga, hold promise for treating the physiological and emotional states of PTSD. A regular meditation and yoga practice can improve sleep, boost mood, and ease chronic pain and depression symptoms.
This 45-minute class is designed to help you learn safe and effective stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques that empower you to alleviate your stressors — both during the session and outside of class. You’ll discover ways to reflect rather than react. Take time to stand down and experience a moment of peacefulness.
This is a non-religious and non-spiritual class. Wear comfortable clothes, and bring a mat, towel, and/or cushion on which to sit.
We've partnered with Adventures in Training with a Purpose (ATP) to offer this program at their facility in Wexford, PA. ATP is focused on improving the quality of life for veterans, active duty military, and first responders through their specialized division called Aurelius, which helps individuals achieve a better tomorrow through a holistic mind, body, and soul program.
This program is open to anyone who has ever served in the military and a guest. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
Military Bike Ride - Moraine State Park
Saturday, July 26 | 9:00 AM
Moraine State Park
Meet Up Details TBA
Our bicycle rides are a great way to explore Western Pennsylvania and beyond. The rides are hosted by Leo McCarthy, Army veteran and retired Moon Township police chief. Leo works hard to plan our rides, peppering them with an ounce of fun and a dash of history.
The rides are social in nature and limited to a small group of 15 riders. We take our time and enjoy the camaraderie. Most rides are between 15 and 20 miles. If you don't have a bike, we may be able to help you. Email Christine for information.
This trail travels up and down small hills, having a roller coaster effect: you coast down one hill and gain enough momentum to easily peddle up the next hill. The deer have little fear of people and often walk right up to the trail. Parts of the trail are heavily shaded while others are full sun. Getting on the trail early in the morning is very important because it can get crowded.
Interested riders are welcome to join us for lunch afterward, at their own expense.
Exact meet up details will be provided the day prior to the ride.
