Yoga Stand Down
5:45 - 6:30 PM
Adventures in Training with a Purpose
7000 Stonewood Drive, Suite 115A, Wexford, PA 15090
Complementary health approaches, such as meditation and yoga, hold promise for treating the physiological and emotional states of PTSD. A regular meditation and yoga practice can improve sleep, boost mood, and ease chronic pain and depression symptoms.
This 45-minute class is designed to help you learn safe and effective stretching, breathing, and relaxation techniques that empower you to alleviate your stressors — both during the session and outside of class. You’ll discover ways to reflect rather than react. Take time to stand down and experience a moment of peacefulness.
This is a non-religious and non-spiritual class. Wear comfortable clothes, and bring a mat, towel, and/or cushion on which to sit.
We've partnered with Adventures in Training with a Purpose (ATP) to offer this program at their facility in Wexford, PA. ATP is focused on improving the quality of life for veterans, active duty military, and first responders through their specialized division called Aurelius, which helps individuals achieve a better tomorrow through a holistic mind, body, and soul program.
This program is open to anyone who has ever served in the military and a guest. Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

Every year we feature a bicycle ride through parts of the city of Pittsburgh. The sites are historic, interesting and fun. We will cover all that and more by branching off onto the Hazelwood Green Trail at the Hot Metal Bridge. Home to J&L Steel for about 100 years, it provided the steel for ships, tanks and weapons that helped win WWII. The mills are gone, but we can witness a rebirth of industry and innovation.
The new trail is paved, flat and separated from traffic. We will visit the revitalized J & L Rail Road Roundhouse and then circle the green viewing massive new construction, parks, artwork, and the historic Hazelwood Brew House.
Interested riders are welcome to join us for lunch afterwards, at their own expense.
Exact meet up details will be provided the day prior to the ride.
